Commander Davidson Bulloch, a former Confederate Navy submarine captain, gets more than he bargains for when he signs on as the first captain of Maryland's new "Oyster Navy" and sets out to rid the Chesapeake Bay of illegal oyster dredgers. Beset with an aging crew of misfits and his cantankerous iron-clad steamer, The Layla, Davidson quickly realizes he's dealing with more than just some purloined oysters; the nefarious pirate Treacher Fink has hatched a plan to summon the ghost of a legendary Chesapeake Bay waterman who has the power to control the sea and everything in it.

I tried it raw once, no real taste and too many uncomfortable feelings as I chewed.

There’s plenty more—around 125 pages or so, to be exact!

I hope this isn’t a once-a-week strip. It will be daily won’t it?

The “about Oyster Wars” look interesting. I hope this is just gathering us all together for a good story telling

Oyster shucking. Ahhh I remember it well being from my Maryland homeland. Yep. That’s the place that spit me out.
And if you can shuck oysters that quick you are good.
Blue gill crab, oysters stewed or boiled. Beware eating fresh. Bad juju with the stomach messer uppers.
His knife however is at the wrong angle. And would be unable to slurp if the muscle is not cut. Darn thing will hang there on the shell like a luggie.

And silt and sand and everything else that goes through one of those. Which is everything we toss into the bay. Motor oil, gas, diesel, ships waste (Oysters love that) Think about it the next time you slurp one.
(But I still love to eat em)

Keep it up Captain. You have a fan in me. I am from that area along time ago. Now live in Texas. Not much oysters here. They try to use bull testicles and call them Rocky Mountain Oysters but a true Marylander knows and can taste the difference.
