    Don’t you mean “goddess”, you two? Betty’s a female.

    @Josh Lyons

    It’s a semantic, “god” is technically gender neutral but it’s used to help distinguish female and male gods in polytheistic religions in case they have names from which some wouldn’t be able to infer gender.

    Sometimes this strip is surreal. ……… well, okay, sometimes more than others.

    “Betty”, the “God” of snack cakes? What kind of alternate reality is this? What aren’t you telling us, RJ?

    @Arbitrary

    The etymology of “god” means to “call to the deity” not an actual identifier of such a creature.

    Remember when they claimed roaches would take over the world when we were gone? A friend in college joked that after a world-destroying event the only things left would be roaches and twinkies, and that the roaches would develop intelligence and thus make a god of what made their survival possible— the twinky god.

    Lighten up on the semantics, its just a comic strip.

    Actually, roaches would probably only touch twinkies if there wasn’t any organic material like leaves, wood pulp, even book bindings and glue.
