RJ is technically right, the rules don’t specify queen.

I have an optional house rule that it can only be redeemed for something previously lost.

Mommy, I’m scared! The turtle is teaching the racoon chess and the squirrell is staring into my room.

Think I got you beat. I had learned chess in general when I was about eight, and decided it was time to teach my younger brother. Mind you, I was teaching him because I already knew the rules, and I wasn’t trying to throw the game.

My two-year-old brother found a way to get me into checkmate on his /introductory/ game.

…hopefully he was too young to remember it.

Back in the day me and a friend of mine were playing chess. He came with a new version.
    “Nuke” chess.
When you look like you are going to lose. NUKE ‘em all.
It was the only way I could at least break even. In all the years I have played I have on won one match. I just don’t think that far ahead.
His brother never lost. He played “Punch” chess. If it looks like I am going to lose I am going to “punch” you in the nose. He never lost.
Fun game I still play computer chess. I put the settings on random AND STILL LOOSE!!!!!!

“queen, rook, bishop or knight of the same colour”. Although rook and bishop make no sense unless you’re deliberately handicapping yourself.
