I wonder what a major urban area does look like from space as a before and after?

my neighbors went nuts this weekend with the lights, my kids are all grown up and i now go to their homes for the holidays so my house is just dark at night,no lights at all and i love it.Looks more natural, just a wreath on the front door, just like the old days. Can’t wait for the snow now that I’m retired and don’t have to drive in it.lol..

I started to put my tree up yesterday. I figure it will take a day or so to get it the way I want it. Not too sure about outside lights this year, since I don’t have any neighbors who are actually within sight of my house.

the bad things about this season is the exhaustive consumerism and the fake goodwill. spend and spend and spend while being nice for 1 month of the year. because little johnny wants the new ipad 4, which would be obsolete next christmas.

One of the advantages of living in a rural area – the lights don’t disturb my night sky viewing

Seriously, the grocery stores are already playing carols. I saw a poor little kid getting excited about Santa Claus – a month too soon.

Next Christmas? You mean by Easter.

Actually with any crapple product it was obsolete before it hit the market.

I’d be happy if they waited until the day after Thanksgiving. I’m going to start calling them “Thanksgiving decorations”.
