Over the Hedge, created by T Lewis and Michael Fry, takes a freshly skewed look at suburban living from the perspective of the animals who lived there first. The strip stars RJ, a mischievous raccoon, and Verne, his sensitive best-buddy turtle. Together they fight to save their wooded wonderland from the evils of encroaching suburbia but end up becoming distracted by wide-screen TVs, discarded fast food containers and the fun of wreaking havoc on the local homeowners' association.

at first I really thought I was looking at Alice from Cul de Sac!

You mean that you are just now figuring this out, Verne??

@masterskrain
Verne might have been complimenting RJ…

That’s what my Sister-in-Law did for my kids on holidays and birthdays. Drums, electronic trucks that rev and play loud music, little electronic keyboards. She would stop by, stay long enough for the boys to open their presents and start making a racket, then she would excuse herself and go home. Well no more, now she’s married with a son and my wife and I have found turnabout is fair play. My nephew has alot of loud noisy obnoxious toys from us now, too.

this is classic. The Sistine Ceiling will be dust, the Louvre will be a mall and this particular strip will be enshrined in comedy history as a landmark in human genius.
not only that, I liked it.

LOL! After my divorce I gave my son a toy robot that made various very loud noises and emitted smoke. Had no idea it would drive the ex crazy until she told me it was the most annoying toy my son ever had.

This reminds me…Whatever happened to Clara?

@praidt
Like many famous child stars of comic strips, Clara soon found herself in trouble with drugs and the law. She’s currently serving a 15 year sentence for possession with intent out in Oakland.
