Louie really is useless. He’s not a watchdog, he doesn’t stop the Green Ship guys from stealing Henry’s safe, he doesn’t warm Charlie when those pesky rabbits are stealilng from his gardens, lets those disease ridden rodents get away with murder and disrupts their games by stealing the equipment. The only thing he does well is eat! Totally worthless.

I think you’re missing the point of what cartoons are all about.

And all on the ship would fight to the death to protect Louie. Must be worth something.

I think you’ve missed the point of having a dog.

Takes an imagination and a sense of humor to enjoy the comics, especially Overboard. I would assume those that do not, never read The Lord of the Rings trilogy & if they did, never got into it fighting along with Frodo, etc.
    SO THERE!

Louie is a Labrador – a Golden one, at that. Clearly you have never owned a Golden Lab. They live for eating and sleeping – and hanging around smiling at everybody (especially those with food) and generally spreading good cheer.

Gold Labs are the proof that dog is God spelled backwards.

you’ve dug yourself a deeeeep hole and … I ain’t gonna help you out.
The wrath of the Crew, and Fellowbabies will be upon you, and you won’t know what hit you bro.
While I agree, Louie COULD be more … helpful … saying so in the manner you did, is probably the worst idea of your life.
    .
    Just sayin’.
    .
    .
    RUN LOUIE! RUN!
In the future, when you boys play ball, have 5 or 10, or 15 baseballs.
    Softballs run $2.49-$7.99 each while
    baseballs run $2.00-$5.00 each.

Louie is a Labrador — therefore he is worth everything.

There are no golden Labradors. They are yellow.

I like working dogs, police, rescue, etc. The rest are owned by people that want control over something in their lives. It is illegal to own a human, so own an animal instead and pretend it is part of the family. Society slips a little further down the evolutionary ladder. See ya all on the bottom rung.

Sounds just like any of the following:

    1. Flash, from “The Dukes of Hazzard”
    2. Garfield
    3. Snoopy (to a degree)
    $. Jed Clampett’s Duke
