Don't miss the daily misadventures of cartoonist Chip Dunham's clever crew of shipboard malcontents, incompetents and laggards. Overboard stands out with a pointed wit that has dagger-sharp timing and effect.
Louie, the ship's faithful dog, is the center of attention of the adventures on land and at sea. His human companions not only have to deal with Louie and his requests, but also the many problems they face living at sea, like dolphins eating their garden, and sea monsters taunting Louie. The entertaining exchanges between Louie and the humans on the ship will have readers coming back for more of this cast-away comedy. Man overboard!

Wow… black flames in the fireplace. What are they burning?

And if they can have a refrigerator plugged in aboard ship, I suppose they can have a brick fireplace, too.

Crews used to build fires on the decks of old sailing ships. A layer of sand, a layer of bricks, repeat, repeat. Worked fine….usually….

Too funny. Been reading the strip for years and years; have the Boatload of Louie book and have written to the publisher twice asking to print another book but the “demand” isn’t there.
Daughter has two huge Labs, strip today hit home.

happy, happy, happy!!!
the old whaling ships had brick firepits on deck. they had to render the whale blubber down to oil, and that meant large pots over a fire…

harrynose, did you see my comment yesterday? Guess you aren’t new to the strip, but you should check out the other strips I mentioned, if you haven’t already. :-)

Good Afternoon Crew,
Louie is the master of biological warfare, and if he needs back up the (RAF) Rodent Air Force) will always get the job done.
