Don't miss the daily misadventures of cartoonist Chip Dunham's clever crew of shipboard malcontents, incompetents and laggards. Overboard stands out with a pointed wit that has dagger-sharp timing and effect.
Louie, the ship's faithful dog, is the center of attention of the adventures on land and at sea. His human companions not only have to deal with Louie and his requests, but also the many problems they face living at sea, like dolphins eating their garden, and sea monsters taunting Louie. The entertaining exchanges between Louie and the humans on the ship will have readers coming back for more of this cast-away comedy. Man overboard!

Well, you keep doing your “totally basic walk” and you’ll rate your own boat every time, Louie.
Good Morning, Crew!

Dry: The discrepancy in the clocks we’ve been looking at is thus: I believe that the www.xmasclock.com is NOT including December 25th, which is accurate (meaning, it stops counting at 00:00:00AM 2012-12-25EST.
Where as, Peanuts-Holiday-Clock counts until 11:59:59PM 2012-12-25 EST (as does I believe, your newspaper).
THUS (since really, they shouldn’t include the ‘day of’) just realize that those clocks are off by 12 to 24 hours.

@Allan
I don’t think so Allan One of those 23 days includes today, particularly if you read your comics in the early AM as I do. I have still all of today to shop plus 22 more days. Yesterday is lost, but not today.

I quit reading most of the comics page but I never miss Overboard, Pearls Before Swine and Ten Cats. I just love the way Chip loves the animals – even the giant purple cats.

@Citizen GROG!
Shop? SHOP?!?!!?
1) Lost my job and most of my income this week.
2) Was not born a Christian.
3) Most friends are Jews, atheists, or non-religious.
4) I buy presents for birthdays, not holidays.
So I couldn’t buy presents if I wanted to…and I don’t want to…or need to.
Humbug? Let’s see how jolly YOU are losing 90% of your income at this time of year (I am referring to most companies not hiring, not the Christian commercial holiday.)
I will still look for sales like always, but not especially for this holiday nor or presents.

It’s never easy to lose one’s job at any time. I hope you find a job soon.
As for gift giving, Jews do it, Muslims do it, everyone with kids do it. Christians buy gifts because they can be as secular as anyone, unfortunately. Hopefully, most of realize the gifts are not what Christmas is all about.
