That ocean has a strange color to it. Unnatural. Maybe Louie is protecting them from the dangerous water.

One afternoon I was sitting on the beach with my mom, young son and my old dog Ely, a golden retriever/shepherd mix who never showed aggression to anyone or anything. Three men in their late teens/early twenties came strolling by. Two continued to walk past, the third stopped in front of our blanket and sort of bent his knees and sort of stomped in front of us and said “Look at the big bad dog.” I never saw such a docile half asleep dog come to life so quickly. Ely was up on all fours, hunched down with hackles straight up and ready to spring with a snarl on his lips and a low guttural growl. The look of shock on that young mans face was priceless. He was gone in a flash running after his friends. I never knew Ely had it in him. He laid back down. All in a day’s work. Dogs are wonderful.

Agreed. Thought it was flotsam until someone came in with the shark angle.

On my screen, it looks more like the result of purple rain filled the ocean.

A true hero does his job without expecting a reward or praise.

To the men and women who serve in the military, law enforcement, rescue and fire.
Plus to all the parents too.
