    Old apartment buildings had someone that lived in the basement and kept the fire in the boiler burning without blowing up the building.

    The marijuana prohibition is going out with a whimper instead of a bang. Instead of spending countless billions in a useless effort to eradicate pot, the government could have regulated it like liquor and raked in almost as much money in taxes.

    Prohibition of alcohol had wide backing yet it still failed and create criminal cartels and gun fire in the streets. Also deaths from alcohol poisoning. Something previously uncommon.
