It’s like driving without a seat belt. Where are the knee & elbow pads?

That’s the risk you take when you use a skateboard.

Since 8-year-old Joe is holding his right elbow with his left hand, and if knee and elbow pads were in that box, he would be wearing those while still going to Mommy and holding his elbow.
But, it looks like Joe fell face down in panel 6.

Next thing you know, they’ll be making crash helmets for fannies!

Good idea. Enough sore tailboines.

They already do, Susan001. It’s called junk food.

He’s lucky he didn’t cut his head – it’d be hard to explain how that happened “with his helmet on”!

The same day - 8 November 2009 - this appeared on GoComics, the Chicago Sun-Times ran a strip in which Ruthie is distressed because she has been invited to a Princess Party. She does not want to miss a party, she hates the whole silly frilly Princess thing. Mom saves the day by dressing her up as Princess Leia, with lightsaber (and with bagels as hair extensions!). May the force be with you, Ruthie!

The Joe cartoon seems to be dated 2007, 2 years before the Ruthie cartoon.
