Good thing Ruthie was nowhere to be found to add her two cents worth to the report.

working in a retail business the power went off. we had to send all the young clerks off the the floor because they couldn’t use a pencil and a piece of paper to figure totals.we’re raising a bunch of idiots.lose computers and the young kids all go “duh”

This is not the current strip since today is 10/25 on the calendar and not 10/21 as in the strip. So, Joe wouldn’t know anything about something I mention below since it wasn’t on the news when the above was written.
I wouldn’t give Joe an “A” on this paper because the pencil and paper thing of his has no connection with cavemen.
His mother needs to read his report and tell him to leave out the comment about bionic superheroes. But, he could mention using computer technology to help disabled people and people with missing arms, hands, legs, and/or feet. Just this week, I saw a news report where a guy with his right forearm and hand were missing and he was using his artificial forearm and hand to do things.
If Joe’s folks have a computer, he could have used it to write a paper on computers with the computer NOT connected with the internet and only connected to a printer.
And, he might have been able to use the Spell Check program, too.
Some laptop computers are called “notebooks.”

Without a computer, how could you write comments about this strip?

Where I work at they wonder where they would be without computers. With people and handwriting not the best typing with computers not typewriters makes it easier.
If Joe’s mom had allowed more computer with internet use how much more Joe could have completed his homework assignment.

JAD, these are repeats. All week, every week. And if Bionic Superheroes don’t have computer sin them, how does their Bionics work?
I like how Joe changes Pennsylvania to Ohio for easier spelling.

I’m surprised Joe came up with “I’m coming to my census.” That sounds like a Ruthie pun!
Young (anyone under 30) people’s pathetic math skills go beyond dependence on electronics. After getting a hair cut recently, I told the clerk to add a certain tip to the bill to charge to my credit card. It was the most basic arithmetic you can imagine – typical Grade One stuff. She had NO CLUE what to do. She started punching random numbers into the cash register, trying to get it to show the correct change for her tip. Another clerk came to help – he got out a calculator, and still had trouble figuring it out! A computer won’t help you if you’re too stupid to know which buttons to push.
