   My mother’s father gave age-related gifts to the children of Mom’s siblings; but, he was always years behind when it came to giving us presents. Her mother died when I was about 3 years old and Dad’s mother died when I was a baby.

   Grandad Doty never bought us gifts and we didn’t care about that because he loved all of us uncondtionally.

   On the night when Jesus was born no one even showed up with gifts. The only people who went to the stable where Mary, Joseph and Jesus were found were shepherds. According to my own type of academic research and knowing something about the climate of Israel and the fact that Jesus became the Passover Lamb for his followers, I believe that he was born in the spring. Passover is a springtime event.

   Jesus’ family was staying in a house when the Magi arrived almost 2 years later.
