Maybe you need to adjust the colour control dial on the TV grandpa.

When this strip edition was originally published, it was in color.

I see a new/current version of it in the comics on the Washington Post Comics online. It is always in color.

Not all, BC13. One of my all-time faves is GONE WITH THE WIND, which is in glorious Technicolor.

Grandpa is a master of Sarcasm. Learn from the master, Ruthie. The problem with color TV is that it makes you want to watch even when it ain’t worth watching. And Gone with the Wind is not so great. Scarlet O’harlot is a cold, cruel, ruthless woman. She don’t mind old men worked to death in her sawmill if it will make her rich. I personally would rather starve than get money from the sufferings of others.

I found “Gone With the Wind” long-winded, but not a bad movie. Most all my favorites, including “Casablanca”, “Key Largo” and “White Heat” are in glorious B/W. And don’t get me started with Comedies. Marx Bros are my favs and then there’s “Arcenic And Old Lace” and the Hepburn/Tracey movies.

But I don’t want to ramble.

I would rather get money from the sufferings of others than starve. If someone has to starve, let it be the other guy.

Now to BC13: Did you ever see “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid”, with Steve Martin? Great B&W movie, where they intercut great scenes from old B&W movies. One of my definite comedy favorites.

It’s always hard for those who were born before colour was invented to adjust to the new ways…
