When the customer service rep answers, ask very pleasantly, “What country have I reached?” When they answer, with something other than America, say, again VERY nicely, “I would like to speak to someone in the United States please.” They may ask another question or two but then they HAVE to transfer you. I’ve never had a problem using this method but it’s important to be pleasant and kind.
