    Yeah, forget the Hallmark sentiments, buy a pretty blank card or just get some nice paper, and write down those personal, heartfelt words. I guarantee Mom will keep that and read it a hundred times — long after a card with a generic printed message would be stuck in a little-used drawer or thrown away.

    Claire sure as heck could have saved $50. She will not want that thing Claire bought, but she wants the sentiments. Claire could have just made a card or wrote a note.

    Oh, hey, there you go. You said the same thing I did. That shows this is a common thought. Those card companies are a ridiculous use of money if someone can write a little.
