    Actually it’s a matter of trust. You really have to get to a relationship point of full trust. That usually happens after they’ve been really sick and you have made them feel better; then they understand that you are only trying to help.

    Give up Claire. It’s a two person job: one to hold and one to administer. Wait until you can get some help. And trimming the kitty’s toenails for the duration of the treatment period will prevent much bloodshed.

    Even Cuddles found it difficult to understand when I had to give her daily shots for chelation (after she had eaten costume jewelry); she would cry piteously saying “I LOVE you” so sweetly (because obviously Mommy was not giving love with that needle).
