The strip concentrates this little arc on Claire and Paul and Mom. And it’s all very touching. But just imagine how Dad felt through all this.

Wow! This is the most amazing thing that’s ever happened here on “On a Claire Day”! Bravo! Excellent! And every thing else! They are sitting right next to each other. Claire’s got her left hand on Paul’s shoulder – that’s not too intimate. There is a menagerie of animals in the way. But you can’t even see Paul’s right hand, it could be anywhere. This is what the audience wants! Keep up the good work!

comicsssfan, do you remember the VERY early days of “On a Claire Day”? Claire was single, and was allowed to be attractive, and attracted to different men, and to flirt a little. Once she met Paul and settled down, any element of romance or sexy interaction got squashed into this domesticity. A big downhill slide, if you ask me.

I completely forgot you can look at the old strips by clicking on the calender! After looking at the earliest ones I have to agree there was a spirit and spark to them that seems missing now. Now it sometimes seems Claire is going through the motions and may not be that enthused about Paul, the way she is about Sammi and Mila. Mainly, there are more questions than answers about Paul. All we know is that he’s alternately timorous, obsequious and distracted around Claire. But what does he really think?
