We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

Well, if you rock and roll, you can do it all night and party every day.

Mick Jagger works 60 to 70 hours a week practicing, playing, rehearsing, writing and exercising. In other words he has to work like any shlub 60-70 hours a week just to keep his job. Going on fifty years working his head off just to be a rock star.
“…he’s too old for rock and roll,
But he’s too young to die.”

Unfortunately, my housemate does not understand this. He thinks I spend way to much time with my guitars, when I actually do not spend enough.

Live your passion-and if you happen to get paid for it, all the better…..
Then you get the best performance ‘cause it doesn’t feel like work (sigh)……..

Paul could have stopped when he was ahead, which was after the great skier comment. The other stuff sounded just like what this guy has to hear from his parents. Claire looks earnest but she secretly wants to ditch Paul for the weekend and hang out with this guy and his friends.

This strip always sacrifices Paul by making him say the dumbest things in order to point out other profligate lifestyles. Gus would never say anything so awkward. Now Claire has a good excuse to never get close to Paul.
