We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

Claire used to work at a library. I thought maybe she’d be in the habit of studying about what she was about to get into. I don’t ski, and I knew about binding releases just by reading a little about it. But I know it’s just a comic.

Why does it matter if it is a “comic?” Doesn’t change what it can say and do, but it would have eliminated the punch line.

Do you know the comedy rule? If you have a choice between being correct or being funny—-funny wins.

I like very much ski, and I wear glasses-which Claire obviously doesn’t. I’ve fallen many times but with no pain-I even skied carrying my SLR camera and taking photos, goes without saying. But on most other sports I’m a catastrophe:-)

I’ve noticed that about this strip too. It can make you feel like a genius reading it. But then at some point it gets absurd. Like when Paul couldn’t change a car tire. A guy like Paul could rebuild a car engine if he had a shop manual and tools. I knew a mentally challenged guy who, seriously, didn’t know how to tie his shoes or button his shirt, but he could change a car tire.

Claire and Paul should check out today’s “Ben” strip. It’s got a hugging scene.
