We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

“I never participate in a sport that has an ambulance waiting at the bottom of the hill” I don’t know who originally said that, but I concur. (Was it Erma Bombeck?)

Skiing? There are much cheaper ways to break my neck and kill myself.

My rule was always: if You’re going to get upset every time you fall, don’t go skiing! Then again, once I fell, I stayed stuck where I fell. No snowplowing for me.

Friends have tried to drag me on ski trips. I usually say, “Sure, I’ll come. Someone has to drive the ambulance!”
