We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

These two don’t understand fine dining at all.

Well, Sleeepy2, the food wasn’t the greatest, so I wouldn’t call it fine dining in that restaurant. Unless I don’t understand fine dining. Either way, I base my restaurant experience primarily on the food—unless the atmosphere or service is THAT bad.

If the service and ambiance are good, all you remember is the food. If they are bad, it does not matter how good the food is.

For “fine” dining you should never be in a hurry and the place should accomodate any special requests within reason. Service at places set up for quick service of just ordinary food HAVE to provide prompt and efficient service. It is a bonus if any of those have food of any quality. We also may have a really quick meal at a “fast food” place on the way to a work place.

Paul is complementing Claire profusely, which is a smart move. You have to hope it works out for him later tonight.
