We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

A lot more complicated than the Pyramids. Those were mostly just a solid mass, the Coliseum had all those passageways, levels, arches and such.

The Pyramids also have passageways, levels and such. Kind of short on the arches, I admit.

And with all the lifting and shifting power and technology we have available to us today, all we can construct are pre-formed concrete, steel and glass carbuncles.

So the slaves figured out the inclined planes, pulleys and levers? Sure they did. Leave it to the guys actually doing the work to find an easier way.

@Prof danglais
Or like my husband does for a living, pump the concrete in through a 48 meter z boom truck…or for the hi-rise he’s on now, mount the boom on a pedestal in the future elevator shaft and jack it every time they poor a new floor. Try about 40 stores high on a frame made to sway with the wind.
Yes, I stay on my knees.

I figured they just used a skyhook to life them and a wanglerbar to move them in place.

basically — I just googled wanglerbar and the only thing that came up is a watering hole in Katy, Texas. I congratulate you on inventing a totally new tool and a totally new name for it. Tangentially, the Wrangler Bar is “the only Wild West saloon in Bahrain.” Really.

They had cranes and levers, just not as big as ours, and all muscle powered

Mr.JimCos: The slaves that did the designing were mostly educated Greeks. They were the most sought-after teachers too. The rest, they stole from the Etruscans.

It’s been recently discovered that the gladiators were vegetarian, eating mostly barley. And a lot of it because they had to have a layer of fat on them to protect against cuts. They also ate a burnt wood substance for the calcium.
