We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.

That’s an interesting expression on Claire’s face in panel three. CV should offer that as a replacement for the “Mr. Yuk” stickers.

My great-grandfather ate like that from the time he was 30. He died at the age of 97 with his hair, teeth, hearing, vision, and mind all functioning perfectly (his heart just wore out).

My uncle was a farmer who lived to 104 and was still farming and active until 103. Ate anything he wanted too.

My maternal grandfather died at 95 with his faculties intact, and he ate all the bad stuff - meat, butter, eggs, etc. It’s probably as much genetics as habits.

Definitely genetics, Runar, especially related to how folks react to what they eat. Some people do better on the veggie path, some don’t, speaking as one of the latter.
