Unless Claire’s working for the Library of Congress, her salary’s not coming out of the federal budget.

This is a wonderful and delightful strip, but wish the author would keep her politics out of it.

All public libraries receive some form of federal funding!!! That is why you can walk into any one of them any where in the U.S., including many colleges and universities–just show ID!!!

On A Claire Day by Carla Ventresca and Henry Beckett

The step into adulthood is a scary one. So much is new, unfamiliar, frightening, incomprehensible. Claire has just taken this step. She’s moved from her parents’ to her own apartment, to start life as an "adult". Armed with a good heart and an optimistic spirit, her challenge is she still has so much to learn about life: the nuts and bolts of managing a job, a home, how people interact, relationships, planning for her future, and so much more.

We’ve all been through this. In fact we go through it every day. We all know how tough, but also funny, it can be, as we move through life’s situations if we take our knocks with good humor. And we know also how very rewarding it can be when we actually occasionally get things right.
