Okay, see, this is from the Iliad (Trojan horse) and the Odyssey (Cyclops giants). The giants found the horse and thought it was a piñata. Instead of candy, there are Greek soldiers falling out, which, I suppose, are like candy to a Cyclops.

Either those Greek soldiers are teeny tiny, or that is one humungous tree!

If you get the reference, either you had a good teacher or a penchant for Greek epic poems.

Except the Trojan horse only carried one soldier, who sneaked out later and opened the gates for the rest of the army….

The main detail I got wrong in my off-the-cuff answer is that this story is not actually in the Iliad, but in other works (mainly, the Aeneid).

msowards: There were cyclops other than Polyphemus, just as there were other gorgons besides Medusa, and even named Valkuries in addition to Brunhilde.
