    In those days, conformity was good. The last thing they wanted to do was stand out. With the crew cuts and the uniform, yeah, they all looked alike. That’s what they were goin’ for.

    They all stood out. Each and every one of them, based on ability and accomplishment. Not some form of agreed upon nonconformity.

    The astronauts were picked partly because they had similar size and dimensions. That way they could could make one size of spacesuit, chair, hatch size, etc.

    That’s it, I knew there was a reason I never made it into space, I didn’t fit the spacesuit.
