Hey! Who censored my comment yesterday? Since when is calling out a blithering Obamanator for pointless blather and providing the evidence why the blather was pointless reason for deletion? Was the term ‘talking out of your backside’ considered too indelicate? I have a good mind to be thoroughly offended by that. Harrumph, harrumph!

Regardless what tax law says; corporations are not people…
If they were; they would be required to die after 70-85 years and re-organize under new names and new boards of directors… starting out with a clean slate and new stock issues, new union contracts and new statements of intent. The old stocks would become worthless at the termination of the old company. Everyone dies and so should corporations. To give birth to new endeavors to grow and succeed or fail on their own as Real People do.

Nobody claims that corporations are people. Corporations are associations of people. To quote the majority opinion in Citizens United, “If the First Amendment has any force, it prohibits Congress from fining or jailing citizens, or associations of citizens, for simply engaging in political speech.”

    Some humans ain’t human
Though they walk like we do
    They live and they breathe
Just to turn the old screw
They screw you when you’re sleeping
They try to screw you blind
    Some humans ain’t human
    Some people ain’t kind…

Your willingness to publicize your ‘moment’ indicates you are a person of character . . . amusing character, at that.

Corporations are collectives of people, just like governments, cities, universities or any other uplifting and enriching collective.
The very word “incorporated” denotes a collective.
Like any collective, they set policies and practices within their collective dominion, according to the wishes and beliefs of those members of their collective who hold authority.
You can easily hire a corporation to take out your garbage, cut your lawn, clean your gutters or anything else.
It’s still cheaper to do it yourself, though.

What ticks me off is the corps want to be able to give money for elections.
Then want to jump ship to other countries to ‘pay less taxes because the U.S. is too high.’
My take is if they move the HQ to another country to skip out on taxes, that is the same as becoming a citizen of another country. So they give up their citizenship to the U.S.
Thus they are a foreign organization and should not be allow to put money into the election or groups of the same nature.
The political organizations much be made to list their donors. Otherwise how would we know it it isn’t backed by terrorist or other governments trying to do damage to the U.S.

    Here’s an idea. Just saying.
Let’s change the election campaign law as follows:
    1) Only the candidates them selves can advertise their positions and views.
(this does away with the overly biased rhetoric from unions, PAC’s, etc.)
    2) Contributions can only be accepted from PEOPLE who have an SSN. NO CONTRIBUTIONS FROM EIN’S!

When my daughter was trying to find a job (this was back in the Bush era) we went into Hobby Lobby to get an application. I didn’t know of their overzealousness yet. With a mother like me there was no way she was getting a job there. Plus I taught both of my girls to be open-minded and to speak said minds. Believe me when I say there are many days I regret that one! lol. Every so often a full page ad for religion will appear in our paper. I noticed at the bottom scripture and “brought to you by Hobby Lobby”. I had decided a while back to never go there again. All of this birth-control crap has cemented my disdain for the company.

They’re not talking about corps as a ‘group of people’ here. They’re talking about them as individuals, with individual rights, but none of the responsibilities or the ability to go to jail for crimes. explains it all better than I can.
