    Omnius has a valid point that those who don’t learn science in school can be incredibly obtuse about it in later life. Unfortunately, part of the problem lies with the schools that teach only the FINDINGS of science, and not its METHODS. Then it becomes all too easy for the students’ eyes to glaze over (much as they do in history class when we get to the particulars of the English enclosure movement), and they never learn how to apply the scientific process to NEW stuff, only how it HAD been applied to the old stuff.
