I have to wait an extra hour for these comic strips because of daylight savings. The wait kills me.

    You ain’t just a whistlin’ Dixie !
Some nights it’s a real battle. The worst is, I get my second wind and start commenting on various strips and pretty soon, it’s 3am (EST).

Does she ever give anyone else any gifts? Or just expect them all to be given to her. Just curious.

In high school, I wrote a version which began -
    “T’was the night before Christmas,
    and all through the cafeteria
    Not a creature was stiring
    not even bacteria.”
The lunch ladies didn’t find it funny.

Both Moore and Henry Livingston have connections to the Mid Hudson Valley of New York. Livingston lived in Poughkeepsie, while Moore used to spend a lot of time with friends (the Bard family) just north of Poughkeepsie. The Bards and Livingstons were also friends. Interestingly, while doing some research, I found a letter from one of the Bards noting how Moore used to read the poem to their kids well before it was published. Of course, the letter was written after the poem was published, so who knows how accurate it is?
