That’s why we have Marines on Navy ships - do you know how much rowing it takes to get thirty-five knots of wind over the deck of a Nimitz-class carrier?
nibor6 said, 14 days ago
Cripes, usn southern hemisferians don’t even know what “sind” is!!
durtclaw said, 14 days ago
Wubstirs Dikshunairy.
Sind: Noun; name for the air movement or flow on a ships deck from fore to aft.

194 MW / 150 W = 1.3 million rowers

Plus it’s a lot easier for the pirates to come aboard with dinghies already in the water
Avolunteer said, 14 days ago
This would be a cruise with a “get fit” theme….. bet they’d get a lot of interest, at least initially!

Sind is a province of Southeastern Pakistan. Why would you want that over the deck of the Nimitz?

DB, I was in Rota one time, upstairs in the Skinny Bar when Marines from the gator Navy came walking up the street and yelled “Navy sucks” at my friend and me. I replied, “Yeah you’re right there. How are you getting home?”

I’m sure that’s not what they had in mind when they were picturing what they were going to be doing in their retirement.

I was a sea-going bellhop too.
I had joined the Marines to see the world which is approximately two-thirds water.
I saw approximately two-thirds of the world.

vilarif, the younger generation would probably claim that this ship is fossil powered

Ha! I’ll bet he doesn’t get very many miles per retiree - I know he’d be hard-pressed to get much distance out of me and MY friends.

Dmajor said, 14 days ago
Yeah, kind of gives a new meaning to “Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!”
And how much are you supposed to tip the whipper?
Dracip said, 14 days ago
Dmajor, Tip the Whipper would be a great name for a band! Oh, The plug on the guitar cord I was using, was shorting out so I went to get a new one. I walked into a music store and told the guy I needed a guitar cord. He said, “G7ths are on sale…”
