it’s amazing how much money you can make if you don’t have a conscience. until you get caught, anyway.

and then, hey, presto, just in time for the press conferences, you suddenly DO have a conscience. Amazing how that works.

You have to realize that you’re doing something bad to feel bad about it. Unfortunately, people have an amazing ability to rationalize their bad behavior.

It’s shameful a few more people don’t develop this “disability”.

I never knew a conscience grew… I just thought they slapped you in the face and said… WAKE UP!… just like dear old mom used to do.

There are places one can go to rid oneself of an unwanted conscience. He’s sitting in one.

That’s what the guy he’s talking to thought. Now he’s afraid of getting infected with one himself.

When it comes to conscience, all politicians are created equal - equally defective.

Not all lobbyists are bad. Although there can be mixtures, they tend toward two types. One lobbies for unearned benefits secured by the use of government power to tax, regulate, prosecute, and generally harass. The other type tries to defend honest clients from the first type.

The first type would be impossible and the second type would be unnecessary if government were restricted to its one proper purpose of securing individual rights.

If a lobbyist got a conscience then that’s a miracle. That guy asking for the check must be a real lobbyist.

  23. jayhii

    jayhii said, 2 months ago

Trebor39- You have it backwards; if the 2nd guy was a real lobbyist, he’d be HANDING out a check. The second guy is either a journalist or a congressman that just realized he’s been wasting his time with that guy.

I agree - lobbyists hand out checks. The guy asking for the check is high tailing it out of there - getting far away from someone who actually has a @#%&! conscience … it might be catching
