    Wiley really went beyond ‘fine humor’ with this one.

    Judging by the other comments, this ‘toon seems to have a rather high-quality audience (no L33T speak, for one ! :P), and still, the joke’s full subtlety does not seem to be appreciated.

    I’m really, really laughing my a** off, being able to read such a fine joke in a webcomic in 2009, go Wiley ! ;)

    Do it once and die? Seems a little harsh, doesn’t it? I mean, if a guy has a heart attack afterwards and keels over, that’s just the breaks, but getting your head bitten off by the female is EXTREMELY heavy criticism of your lovemaking skills. A bleak future if you’re a male mantis - celibate, gay, or death. (I didn’t even know they had their own bars).

    While she eats the bug, they get their jollies and then escape alive.
