I’d like to have the apes comment in the third panel emblazoned on a t-shirt. What do you guys think?

Oh GAWD… Is this turning into a “Global Warming” cautionary tale?

Dunno what it is about Seattle, but between the Seattle PI online and the Seattle Times online, for a few years now I’ve been following several strips that I couldn’t find elsewhere. From the links along the side, often I seem to know more about what’s going on in Seattle than about what’s going on in KC.

  13. Wiley

    WileyGenius_badge said, 3 months ago

How in the world could this be seen as a “global warning cautionary tale”? Does politics have to be read into everything? It’s just a silly, fun fantasy. Relax.

  14. DigitalFrog

More likely, Lars is afraid of the apes evolving and taking over the planet…

  15. blazedancer

I’d wear a shirt that said that.

poor Lars, being yelled at by crazy apes is no fun

Let’s see… if Danae is Sarah Palin, and Lars is the liberal media… ;)

  20. DevXIII

    DevXIII said, 3 months ago

Hate to say it Wiley, but in this current climate being “apolitical” has the same negative ring as “atheism”.

Both are the new f-words of right-wingers of the two competing world “religions”..

  21. Garrulous

    Garrulous said, 3 months ago

I like the T-shirt idea. It sounds like good advice. Always stear clear of anyone professing to be ‘A Prophet of Destiny’.

Perhaps it’s the Belching of the Apes that gives concern about global warming. Other than that,
I must say ?!?!?!? about the global warming connection.

  22. Nozzi

    Nozzi said, 3 months ago

Wiley, I think it would be a great idea but instead of directing that command to ‘lizard boy’, It’d be better if it’s replaced with …….&………..
I just leave it blank in case the Western hemisphere finds it offensive.

HEY WILEY: * I still say this reminds me of a “DOCTOR WHO” episode. Danae is the companion, Jeffrey and his *“TARDIS”, (LARS is K-9). Like you said, good, clean Fun!
    I Like it!

    yyyguyGenius_badge said, 3 months ago

i don’t see any political connections in this strip either, but then, i’m not one to go looking for them everywhere i turn and in everything i read - since i’m not obsessive that way.

  25. JonD17

    JonD17 said, 3 months ago

Wiley: 1. as 4deer suggests, with the panel art, I would go big time for the shirt.
    2. The global warming thought probably comes from the cubic tons of methane which will be released by all those belches. no?

steverino, what does that make the apes? Republicons? (that started out as a misspelling, but I like it!)
Wiley, how about a T shirt with just a bunch of apes belching?

  28. vexatron1984

    vexatron1984 said, 3 months ago

I think Lars is worried that the monkeys will find out that Apes became the dominant species on Earth 1.0 after the Dinosaurs were exterminated and get ideas of their own.

Wiley: Now I get it! A T-shirt with just the words,”Stay away from the prophets of destiny, lizard boy!”
would appear to everyone who has not read this strip as a non sequitur!

And just noticed that these apes look a bit like the ones in the ordinary basil book being advertised

The only thing Danae and Jeffery have to worry about is running out of gas…because when they do ….and they will the apes will realize they are fakes. I think that may be what Lars was worried about.
