You got to be a workaholic to create high quality comics 7 days a week. Good work, Wiley.

    A JFri -

    • WE KNOW WHEN CANADA DAY WAS. LOOK AT OUR EXPESSIONS. DO WE LOOK CLUELESS? (Ok, we do, but ignore that.) YESTERDAY’S POST SAID ‘WE HOPe YOU HAD….(HAD, PAST TENSE) A NICE CANADA DAY.*

We will now resume with our non-shouting typing..
We are going to celebrate ‘Dependence on HaShem’ tomorrow, as on every shabbat, by resting with family and in the Torah. Independence from HaShem(God) is bad policy.

You’ll definitely need flood insurance for that castle.

The Shabbat begins today at sundown, that is when the observance of it should begin as well.

Our point was that on July 2nd, we posted ‘Hope you HAD a nice Canada day.’ It was shortly after midnight on the 2nd when we posted, if you want to be technical.

If we said ‘hope you have a nice canada day, then that mean’s we didn’t know when canada day was ,A.

CARMY - are you Elijah? Are you A team? You are right about shabbat!

    mt. carmy??

    wow.

Even castles built on sand don’t survive the tides.

On sand and built with sand? Yikes.

Looks like dem der castle/realty covetous types might be in for a wee bit of a predicament.

JFri & DawnAvril, I am a Canadian as well, however I did read Emet’s comment as written: “Hope you HAD…” -passed tense.

That being said, hope all Americans and Resident Aliens have a nice 4th tomorrow.

Seems she forgot that “on vacation” to a fly-by-night realtor or a shyster is the enforced kind in a grey-bar hotel (such as San Quentin or Leavenworth)!

    Holiday vs, shabbat……

A holiday can be part of a vacation, a vacation is ‘holiday’ to the Englander, shabbat is meant to be a vacation……

but shabbats will never be called holidays.
    Thankfully.

We distinguish ‘round these here parts between holidays (civil) and holy days (religious).

  22. pbarnrob

    pbarnrob said, 4 months ago

Hmmm; isn’t holiday derived from holy day, and wouldn’t a shabbat (or Sabbath for us heathens) be considered a holy day in many religions? It’s *so* hard to keep up!
