“How you going to keep Danae down on the Earth once she has seen…”

Jeffrey, just say, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this…”
Actually, Danae and Jeffrey have already encountered dinosaurs, thanks to his time machine…
Danae is of the breed that says, “It didn’t kill me the first time, so it won’t kill me now…”
Wiley, Love the little rings around the trail… haven’t seen that for many years…

I don’t think they want to get Dana-saur about not going.

I predict tomorrow’s strip is going to invlove Jeffrey trying to convince Danae she can’t come, while Danae ignores him completely… mainly because on various occasions I have been both sides of this argument.

I am tired of this Martian and Danae. Boring.
prasrinivara said, 4 months ago
May not need to worry about that wndrwrthg–she’s not unlikely to be foolish enough to want to do close-up photo of raptor, Allo or T-rex (though from-inside is not exactly the best perspective, it certainly is close-up).

Looks like it’s up to Lars to “disuade” Danae. Jeffrey looks too much like a smarter version of Charlie Brown - wishy-washy.
grazer said, 4 months ago
Only way to dissuade Danae is to suggest the trip will be long and boring without any life threatening challenges or snacks.
Fun storyline, Wiley.

Maybe you can start one, doctortoon. But don’t expect okeedoekee to join. :-)

Well, I guess if evolution belongs anywhere it’s in the comics page. It certainly is laughable.

Actually, you can meet a real dinosaur, or at least a descendant of one: just go outside and find a bird…

Hey - I have decided to keep out of doctortoon’s tribe. It’s just tooo ‘friendly’. I think I here the clicky sound. So I am starting a complete new tribe. You are in just by starting or ending with ‘A”.
here’s my starting ‘A’ team , so whenever I type ‘A’ I’m sending comic syndrome greetings to you in an ultra text messaging manner. It’s also how they great people in Canada. A? Maybe even Australia.
Here’s my A-team:
pookid54
BALD
D-i-c-e-r
grazer
prasrinivera
Helmet head
yyyguy
nighthawks
crunkbot
RRAmom
the irishman
I’ll add on once in a while, but you are free to join or leave at will. Just ignore the ‘A’.
I think that makes me a shaker-quaker liberatarian or something.
“In the bleachers” is my ‘home base’ for ‘A’ greetings. And here of course, where all great minds meet for intellectual meat. Plus wherever else I decide to drop the friendly ‘A’ bomb.
A.

i don’t think so. i first saw it while reading Mad Magazine. if i remember correctly it was a way of expressing shock! kind of like saying “holy @%#*&$%” without the cusswords. i also found two more of my favourite euphemisms there - rigafrutch and fershlugginer - as in, “When in doubt, rigafrutch the fershlugginer thing!”

I want one of those hover bowls!!
Sternvogel said, 4 months ago
“Potrzebie” is a form of the Polish word for “need”. It was spotted by Mad’s founding editor, Harvey Kurtzman, in the instructions for a bottle of aspirin. Kurtzman felt the word would be a great running gag for the magazine.

I fell vindicated. Tank you sternvogul.
Tough guess, yyyguy.
Now I get it – wise guy. y’s guy. HAAAAAAAAA.
I may be relinguishing the team over to you with that one.
johnnydoc5 said, 4 months ago
BC- Lars should go help Charlie Brown with his powers of dissuasion as well as Jeffrey.
I want a hover bowl too.

stervogel has added to my education with his response. thanks. i knew i’d seen it in Mad, but didn’t know where they got it from. as for the name EMET, it also has stooge connotations from my ball hockey playing days (4 guys doing curly impressions on a team where i was the captain made me the straight man for the gags). i’ve always liked the pun value and contemplated using it as a license plate for a while.

@alife, all: Try XNView, at xnview.com, available for WinDoze, MacOSX, Linux, etc. Simple to rather complex editing and I/O in several image formats, as well as viewing. Not PhotoShop nor Gimp (one layer), but useful. It may be all you need for a quicky. (Use save as early, before doing anything drastic).
