    I got my husband a DVR so he could pause the hockey game on live tv for this reason, but sometimes I have to do this with his xbox 360 and COD4.

    The wife should threats to take the remote and turn the TV off instead of unplug the cord off until her hubby takes those trash bags and dump them in big trash bin.
