My grandfather used to say his favorite activity at the nursing home was coming to breakfast to see who didn’t make it through the night.

My father told me that he read the obits every morning to see if he had died, and the hospital report to see if he had any more children.(I had 7 siblings. he may have been nervous.)

The “Standings”, that’s pretty clever – short for “Still Standings” obviously.

I had a friend call me worried one day, my name WAS in the obits!! Even the middle initial was correct. My youngest had just turned two .. I told her I guess we now know I can’t survive being a mom to two young boys! ;P

Two weeks ago was a friend from church, I wouldn’t have known what had happened to her if I hadn’t been checking them out everyday. So yep I read them. I check out the ages mostly, my little friend was 15 years younger!

    Benjamin Franklin said:

“I wake up every morning at nine and grab for the morning paper. Then I look at the obituary page. If my name is not on it, I get up.”

    Sounds like these two.

I’m at a curious age too young for Social Security..but old enough to drop dead..NOT FAIR!!!
On the bright side I’m still on the “Top Side” so I guess I’ll finish my comics now
