Who is she petitioning? Mother Nature? LoL – which back in the day, meant Lots of Luck
Danae should be ecstatic, for once she has lots of people who are agreeing with her.

teaguemj: In case you haven’t noticed, the Democrats are getting major legislation through the House and Senate in record time - in spite of the Rethuglicans’ efforts to obstruct, derail, and delay the process.

It will work in a couple of months.

You are absolutely right Sappha1958, dispite their best efforts. What FDR did was right, it will work again.

FDR did more harm than good. WWII got us out of the depression, not FDR. Japan tried to “spend their way out of trouble” for 10 years and finally realized it was making matters worse. Guess who told them spending wouldn’t fix the problem. The USA.

Does anybody remember when it was a good thing to have discussions and have and defend an informed opinion? Everywhere on the internet I go, there are people who want to discuss/argue/chew over what’s going on around them, and someone is always telling them to shut up. Even Wiley can’t do his own cartoon free of people grousing about what his opinions are (which makes you wonder why they’re reading his toon in the first place). Free speech has gotten so repressed by political correctness and Beige People that pretty soon we’ll all have to sit mute and motionless, thinking only thoughts the consistency of oatmeal, because if you don’t, the thought police will tell you to shut up, it isn’t the forum.

Teresa and GuntotingLiberal are right. Quit the political angsting and enjoy the comic.
In any case, winter sucks. At least with summer, bikinis and pools make things bearable.

What’s she going to do with the petition? Maybe the falling snow will blot out all the signatures.

GuntotingLiberal - I completely agree with you. In the ‘real world’ I have friends of different political stripes and varying faiths. We are able to discuss nearly anything.
What I am seeing more and more lately on the internet is a lack of civility. It seems not to be enough anymore to simply state ones opinion. Too many seem to feel they must be snide, condescending and downright angry.
I have no desire to censor anyone, but I do wish these people would censor their own attitides.

Everybody relax, it appears that much of the danger has passed. You people don’t follow this cartoon very well. If you look in the past you will see “ you’re free to speak your mind and say anything as long as it agrees with me and what I’m thinking and saying.”
Make for sure that this strip stays free and clear of unwanted information.

You’re right Guntoting Liberal. I’m going to break free. No more political correctness for me. I’m going home to BURN those beige pants. Tomorrow I’m going to tell a risque joke in the Office and be damned anyone who gets offended.
Has anyone got a joke that covers religion, politics, minority groups and has a hint of sexual inequality?

I’d just ignore the ditto heads. They had 8 long years to cut government programs to balance the budget, but were obviously unwilling to take the anger that it would cause. So they cut taxes instead, so the democratic party would have to do the dirty work. Now their only recourse is to oppose all things democratic and come up with a coherent reason.
It is fun to argue with them, though, they fly off the handle get red in the face and start shouting at you about what an idiot you are, after just a few minutes. It’s kinda cute, really.

Poor Wiley, even when you try not to be political…

California needs our “winter” to last a little longer. All this rain is great for us (though I’ll admit it makes work around the zoo not so much fun) and needs to continue for awhile longer. I can sympathize though, I lived in Vermont for two years and I’ll never forget the week of -40!
