I’m amazed Obama even bothered to open the hood and look…

    hahahahahaha , that’s classic!

Dude, I had a Doc just like that – well except for the hanky-panky. This guy was great. You could go to his house and get treatment or he would come to you…provided he was sober enough to drive. I’ve got the weird scars to prove it. But what’s a poor fisherman’s family to do?

Now regardless of the morality involved in providing “affordable healthcare for all”, or the ability of the government to do that in an efficient manner one must wonder why people are still queuing up to make excuses for this person who has been lying to his BOSS – the American people – since he took office 5 years ago.

Impeachment now. I’m thinking Joe would be a welcome change that would give me hope.

Is Obama’s comment a lie? Well its a complex issue with many sides. Insurance companies have always been modifying conditions when the contract expires – every year there is turnover and the client has no choice. Can you blame Obama for that? Some insurance companies are pulling out of some markets and consolidating in others. The customer has no choice. Can you blame Obama for that? Some contracts are junk and need to be changed. Can you blame Obama for that? In the heat of campaigns a lot is said, some of which may not be fully qualified with caveats. Happens to both sides. Are these not foregivable offenses? Do people really want to quibble about the largely irrelevant and hope for failure when 44,000 people are dying every year of treatable conditions because they cannot afford health care?
No I wouldn’t call Obama’s comment a lie. What I would call a lie is when the Republicans in the 2010 mid-terms vowed they would focus like a laser on jobs, jobs, jobs. They never intended to focus on creating jobs and they knew it when they said it. That was a lie. In fact the last thing they wanted was more jobs. Rather they wanted failure they could blame on Obama.

Heard another interview with Cheney yesterday in which he said the present healthcare system is the best and the envy of the world. I almost fell off my Lazy Boy. He should just shut up and go fishing.

    “Obama has divided this country.”

You give him way too much credit. This division has been decades in the making, with encouragement from all sides. Special kudos to special-interest-one-issue lobbyists and professional inflammatory entities.

The godfather of enmity politics was Lee Atwater. At least he admitted to it on his deathbed and showed contrition. I look forward to see whether the same epiphany will happen to Karl Rove. Anyone who earns the nickname “turdblossom” from a FRIEND is truly special.

President Obama did something to improve the lives of Americans. Where or what is the republican plan? Oh, that’s right, don’t get sick, and if you do, die quickly. And, the emergency room at the local hospital where cost of care is much higher, partially because the patient waited until the pain was unbearable. I don’t like the republican plan. AGAIN, President Obama has done something to improve lives of Americans; while the republicans have espoused hatred, lies, selfishness, greed and the greatest transference of wealth from the majority to the 1%. While President Obama is not perfect, he is hugely better than romoney or mccain.

There is always hope. I even hope you may one day recognize that not all that disagree with you are necessarily in the thrall of the media.

People have opinions. They are free to voice them. Some of them make some sense, some of them do not.

But unless you are will to consider things other than what your faction espouses, you will never be what is called an “independent thinker”.

It is a shame that you still give this administration any credence at all since they have lied to you at every turn but then once again if you limit your information gathering to one source then what other result should you expect?

NPR is dependent on government largess after all and so is prone to carry the government view point rather than be objective.

RL is dependent on the good will of the people to support his sponsors and will then strive to tickle the ears of those who listen.

The evidence of current events suggested that you will find more of the “truth” at outlets not in bed with the government.

So, while I do listen to NPR – I particularly enjoy A Prairie Home Companion and the folk music presentations – one does not limit one’s horizons.

“President Obama did something to improve the lives of Americans. "
By making them lose their current health care? By keeping the economy in such dire shape (since he could only concentrate on Obamacare) that the middle class has shrunk? By enabling fewer full time jobs (ACA employer mandates), and encouraging smaller companies (another ACA mandate) to NOT offer health benefits?
Logically that is akin to someone shooting your knee caps in order to “help” you. Perhaps YOU consider that help, but please leave me alone. If someone wants to “help” me, they should at least be competent…

I see the problems you note are actually being created by the wealthy, and republicans, not President Obama. So, no. And history supports my assertion.
