Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

So many lives cut short…so much potential lost…so many families who will never be able to celebrate “Christmas” the same way again…

It IS beyond my comprehension how anyone (even someone that is either a hardened criminal or mentally deficient in some other way) could possibly kill such innocents as small children are. Even in savage nature the animals will die to protect their young.

So sad this could happen in America. Prayers with the parents and siblings. Knowledge that they are waiting in heaven will get many through this tragedy.

So they’re in a “better place”? How pathetic. And how American. How typical that this does happen in America – over and over and over again.

We don’t do anything about these nut-cases because we are too concerned about their “civil rights”. Look at a picture of that guy – the lights are one but no one is home! His eyes are wierd!!!! I’m sure the family members knew he was a wack job, but no one could do anything about it until he killed someone. Well, he did a fine job!

Jeepers…now there is a news report that some whack job called in a bomb threat to the Catholic Church about a mile from the site of the shootings during a memorial service!
I’m normally not a violent person, but THIS whacko needs to be executed as painfully as possible!
Maybe drawn and quartered?

“Add some blood splashed over the picture and you have it.”
Nah, that would have been too much.
