    First it was Harry Reid, an eminently beatable and not very valuable legislator. Who did the Republicans run against him? Sharron Angle: she of the “if we don’t win, we should flex our second-amendment rights” and “why won’t reporters ask me the questions I want to answer?” example of leadership ability. Surprise: as politically weak and vulnerable as he was, Reid prevailed.

    Obama the same way. Notwithstanding how we got here and who might have been to blame, he was in a bad position, and was beatable. And who did they run against him? “Corporations are people, my friend…” and so on. And Romney, despite himself and his cohorts, almost won.

    The Rs have to realize that we’re not buying the product they’re selling. It is not enough to stand in the way just to obstruct. It is time to realize that nothing in its pure form (such as the Free Market) is perfect. It is time to realize that God is not an American and Jesus is not a Republican. And, most of all, it is time to stop listening to the idea from a 14-year-old that taxes should never go up under any circumstances. Let’s face it: when I was 14 I had a lot of “great ideas” that would save the world. By the time I was 15, I realized why they wouldn’t work as well as I thought originally. I’m sure I’m not the only one.

    Revenue must increase. It will take us too long to recover just by cutting expenses. It is as simple as that.

    We shall see if anyone is paying attention.

    I wasn’t so much shocked that GOP had such bad candidates, just that the race was too close! If one thinks we’re safe, not so, Bachmann, and way too many of the “looney bin trip” folks area still around.

    heard that fox news last night, the graphic of the obama winning, but the on air people could not bring themselves to say it. it made them nauseous. then, karl rove put his opinion, and that became a disaster.

    Will the GOP finally realize that they have to be less extreme and more inclusive? Women count, as do young people, minorities and moderates.

    They got within striking distance this time. Unless they “get it”, 2016 will be less kind, as will every other election after that.

    I truly wish your sentiment could somehow be presented to the whole country. It is the truth, the actual reality, that this Christian Confederate Nazis on the right cannot see. I truly believe they are intellectually blind or just plain brain dead.

    as undeterred Conservative, and Bible Christian to the core, I am bracing for the war to begin to “cleanse the public airwaves” of any and all conservative talkers and for more government intrusions into the lives and business of members and religious organizations and their leaders.

    but God is sovereign, this may be His punishment for a people who vote over 50% to legalize abominable sins and for the 39 years of sacrificing American pre-born children of God on the altar of abortion. God does give up on stubbornly unrepentant peoples, just check out the Bible…cities, nations and empires.
    God is patient, but the USA citizens have rejected many opportunities to set things right with the God who offers salvation but will finally punish those who not only say “no” but lead others into gross and evil ways of living….and there is no guarantee that God will allow the USA to continue to exist, much less prosper!

    I’d like to apologise for the “I want my America back” mooncalfs that the Tea Party seems to give voice to. What a bunch of whiners. “Their America” never existed. They live in the past that never was. They paint everybody who disagrees with them as a mob of people who, universally, want a handout not a hand up. They live in some Horatio Alger fantasy. When “they” get old and take their government money and bennys they will never see the hypocrisy in it. What a bunch of banana heads.

    @disgustedtaxpayer,
    yah, and obama’s gonna take your guns away too.

    i’m curious, do wear a mixture of fabrics on your body? say cotton clothing and leather shoes? cotton / poly mixes. maybe a wool scarf with a cotton shirt.

    surely you’re aware that that is considered an abomination, just like gay sex.

    A bit of irony for Saturday morning: The Republicans & the conservative PACs spent so much money trying to get Rs elected — pumping all that dough into the economy — that they may have contributed significantly to the pace of growth. Hence helping Obama and the Ds. . Har har.

    Pre-born children, you say. I’m more concerned about pre-dead adults. But what about post-alive adults? Don’t they have rights, too?
