Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

Those of us who want Romney to win so he can solve the servant problem (that topiary isn’t going to trim itself) are delighted that he has come up with the winning debate strategy, a strategy that overwhelms all the dimlibs.
Romney LOOKS more presidential than Obama, and that’s all that matters. Romney may have no tangible platform, since he’s contradicted himself on everything, but that means Obama can’t criticise anything that Romney has said in the past and not be called a 5x liar.
But none of that matters. All that matters is that Romney looks more presidential than Obama. That’s how people have voted since ‘60, and they’ll continue in ’12.

As distasteful to the President as it might be, the American people will always prefer a fighter to a talker. Everyone I know that likes Obama and is still going to vote for him all still wish he came out fighting.

May explain why sports is more important than intelligence to many people.

the toon is suggesting a hopeless situation….Obama is Obama, and even if some voters worship him and expect miracles, Obama cannot change Obama! Nor Obama’s record for 4 years!
-
Jeddi….that is odd, you know someone that likes Obama? I know no one that can stand him or what he is doing to America and Americans.

EUREKA!! Romney says he is going to secure America’s interests, further its values and prevent conflict. WOW! A president who is going to prevent conflict in the Middle East. This is almost too good to be true – A new era of peace and prosperity awaits.
But that’s not all. He’ll do so “wisely, with solemnity, without false pride but also firmly and actively.” How can the terrorists resist not just firmness, but firmness with solemnity? And that “actively” must really grab them.
.
But wait, if solemnity, firmly, actively, and without false pride doesn’t work out, he can always fall back on those 15 extra battleships per year and that new respect for America’s might and military.
.
Now excuse me, I have to finish the deal for that bridge.

The rest of the world has for some time recognized that Americans do reject intelligence. Case in point: “W”. (and two wars, dead troops, and near bankruptcy of the nation prove it)

LOL!!! The hope and change candidate found out how hard it is to be President. It would have helped if he had any leadership skills. But alas, criticizing the current President doesn’t make him eligible to run the country.

Fighter, yes. Bully, no. There is a big difference.

That’s because Republicans all watch Fox ‘News’ and only talk to each other.
-
And Republicans don’t even like Willard and can’t say what it is that would qualify him to be president.
-
They sure do have a seething hatred toward Obama, though. Their reason for supporting Willard the ChickenHawk? He’s not Obama.

“Obama is continuing all of Bush’s Policies”
-
Yep, all of ‘em.
-
Well, maybe, except that one where thousands of American soldiers get killed in Iraq while Halliburton and others are enriched.
-
And, maybe that one where we don’t go after bin Laden.
-
Or, that minor one where American jobs are lost at a rate of 750,000 per month.
-
Or the one where we keep all of our troops in Afghanistan forever.
-
And we don’t count the one where none of the wars are paid for.
-
Oooh, and the No Child Left Behind where people are now being indicted.
-
And new programs like Medicare Part D that are not paid for.
-
Yeah, I cansee where all of Bush’s policies are being continued.

He can always blame Obama for that mess…
I doubt he would use the Obama playbook on Obama but he could.

Funny, Jeddidyah never mentioned “Bully.” So in your mind you are defending the bully.
IMHO he is a weak, Chicago style bully. He hides behind the others that do the dirty work for him.

You can bet yer hat that Obama will prepare for the next debate. He’ll come out dressed as big bird with the attitude of the grouch trying to grab all the cookies from the cookie monster.
Guess debate prep will still be a drag though.
