Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

Yep, that’s the way it appears to be in many places and in many forums, including too much of broadcast news these days.

Wow, Phony paid acorn plants asking questions, nothing. Someone coming up with a real beef in a public forum. My guess is that all that was heard was the hoot and yelp because the D had his or her fingers in their ears!

I’m hoping this kind of destruction of obstruction of political discourse will be a criminal offense.

Give it time tina, give it time. I would say the 1st step is setting up a snitch email, but they have already done that. So lets see what the 2nd step is? flooding town hall meeting to “deal” with those who do speak out?

Flooding the town hall meeting with either side wing nuts seems to be the problem.

False equivalency is the problem. When liberals mobilized against Bush’s plan to privatize Social Security, they attended town halls, asked tough questions, and let their representatives speak. Now, right-wingers are attending town halls and making sure that nobody who disagrees with them is allowed to talk. The MSM is so flinchy over ‘bias’ bullying that they report that both sides are exactly the same, no matter what the facts are.

And Flush suggests we poison Pelosi’s tea – I guess that means it’s ok to kill anyone who disagrees with you politically. What a sicko!!

This portrayal of people who are speaking up at town halls and protesting to be “fake”, “organized”, and “astroturf” is just another strategic play by the White House and the DNC. They have not a shred of evidence that their assertions and true and they know it.
They are absolutely baffled that a significant number of people actually oppose their proposal and won’t tolerate such a thing. The party that has prided itself on being the party of “tolerance” has again demonstrated that they are intolerant of dissenters…regardless of who they are, how many they are, and why they dissent.
The heated nature of the exchange is perfectly understandable. More and more Americans every day are being convinced that their elected Representatives and Senators are not listening to them. Their calls and letters are being ignored by Republicans and Democrats alike. Some have even had the gall to tell their constituents that they “don’t understand” and “they don’t know what they’re talking about”…talking down their noses to those who elected them. Nancy Pelosi, the speaker of the House, did so blatantly on National Television when the Immigration Reform bill was on the table.
It is not a wonder people are angry and inclined to shout. They are convinced that they are not being heard and aren’t going to sit around and take it. Every American has the right to speak and be heard.
We the people are going about this all wrong though. Once we get this angry at our so-called Representatives there is one sure-fire way to put our foot down that can’t so easily be ignored…at the ballot box.
This next election will be very telling. If we vote again and return more than three quarters of our incumbents back to office it will be very telling. America will deserve what she gets.

This idea that Americans should sit down, shut up, and let the government do whatever it wants may be fine for the East and West coasts, but in Middle America it will go over like a lead balloon.

lindz. “flush” is Beck? I hadn’t heard that. I saw the clip with the “poison” Pelosi skit. Beck is a performance artist, and a sick one at that.

So far all the rants I have heard from the right wing are totally unfounded and promoted by web sites that encorage this disruption. These unfounded and rediculous arguments are sure to back-fire, as most American have the intelligence to see through it. Only the folks that get their news from Fox are ignorant enough to believe this stuff - like Death Panels … OMG!
