Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

As the Daily Show pointed out, she said basically the same things as Alito and Roberts at their confirmation hearings. As long as the tone is DC remains as partisan as it is, I expect all future nominees, left or right, to do the same.

Confirmation hearings, in their current form, are a waste of time.

The only question should be, does/will she support,
protect, and defend the Constitution of the United
States?

let me first say that this is such a cheap-shot-cartoon
(right-on- agreed. but what do you propose as an alternative?)
aaaaannndyyyyyy dammit, have we neglected our cream-of-wheat? our research?
let’s be completely clear
sotomayor is the consummate judiciary
she has never embarrassed her knowledge, her profession, her allegiance or her country
she has upheld the constitution because she is a constitution scholar
she has represented the north american nation honorbly
she is a US CITIZEN
what exactly is your gripe?
btw the toon is an egregious affront to all women, to all female officials, to the judiciary, to the latina community, to the community of nationalized humans, to the international community, to the congress, to the president, to the world community, to the well - i think you understand.

No, Howie- she definitely is not a white male. She has a very good record though, that shows her to be very fair and honest judge and that’s what counts.

That’s not a surprise. These days its your politics not your judicial philosophy that will make or break your confirmation.
