Nick Anderson of the Houston Chronicle is an avowed independent who covers politics and contemporary cultural issues in a way that connects with readers. His loose, idiosyncratic style carries with it an unconventional message that has broad appeal. "I approach my work with a healthy skepticism for the ideological extremists littering our political landscape," explains Anderson.

Hey, this ‘ideology’ is for the Republican primaries. These are the governors that are running to lose to Obama in 2012.

That is obviously our idiot governor Rickpublican Perry. I hope the Democrats down here get smart and nominate Kinky in 2010 but they’ll probably nominate some party hack as the sacrificial lamb against the Rushpublicans.

There are two types of compassionate conservatives: those who conserve his/her compassion for those who personally matter to him/her and those who conserver their compassion for their favorite corporate entities.

And those who conserve compassion– in case they’re hungry later…

In Texas, we’re used to the wolf ( or whopping large cretaceous critter) at the door. We just shoot him.
