World Philosophy Day was cooked up by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2002, but longtime Peanuts readers have been enjoying a bit of daily philosophy almost every day anyway. Celebrated annually on the 3rd Thursday of November, World Philosophy Day is meant to underline "...the enduring value of philosophy for the development of human thought, for each culture and for each individual." And when it comes to Peanuts, there are few individuals with a more pronounced philosophy than Charlie Brown's little sister, Sally.

Surprising her lounging brother in a 1986 strip, Sally revealed that she would be disengaging from life's frustrations with a guiding principle summed up by two simple words, "Who cares?" Over the course of two decades, Sally would refine her defense mechanism even further, employing a number of cliches, platitudes, and truisms to protect herself from stress. Did the "Dao of Sally" work? You be the judge this World Philosophy Day, with this collection of 18 Sally-losophies.
