Everybody knows that modern hot dogs are made from "mechanically separated" pork, beef, chicken and turkey of... dubious merit. It's a longstanding tradition of the working class sausage, which -- according to the internet -- may or may not have contained actual dog meat way back in its early 20th century German inception! Furthering their deliciousness are other low-cost/high-flavor ingredients like sodium, fat and preservative nitrites -- all of which are linked to potential health problems.

But man, they're so good! Especially with grape jelly.

We'd dare you to celebrate National Hot Dog Day after being confronted with their true nature with these comics, but we have a feeling you still won't be able to resist. See for yourself, below.
