    ironically, that 1870 ratification was only for the MALES.
    Females were not allowed to vote until the 1920’s

    It freed ALL the slaves including the ones up north (including the president’s!) in the non rebellious states…. They had slaves too but everyone seems to forget that little fact!

    There was no law against women voting, but they still couldn’t in most states. Wyoming allowed it in 1890.

    Sorry. The Emancipation Proclamation ONLY freed the slaves in the states in rebellion against the Union. Lincoln actually had little use for negroes and only freed the southern slaves in hopes that they would rise up and fight the Confederates. In fact, another part of the Proclamation offered to let the southern states keep their slaves if they would end their rebellion. Of course, Political Correctness causes most to ignore historical fact that does not fit their agenda.
