    Actually I’m pretty sure it can transfer if there are trace amounts of the plant oil left on the skin.

    ANYTHING THE OIL IS ON CAN TRANSFER IT. MY SIS REINFECTED HERSELF BY USING THE SAME GARDEN GLOVES OVER WITHOUT WASHING THEM

    That is why the need to carefully wipe off all traces of that caustic oil is important.

    The oils can get blown on you from the wind,too.

    You can get it from petting a dog that was running through poison ivy. Dogs are unaffected by it.
